The C&O Canal National Historical Park offers mountain bikers many opportunities for challenging trails, particularly around Cumberland, Maryland. The trail extends over 184 miles including visitors’ centers in Washington, D.C., Hancock, and Potomac. The dirt trails of the old canal towpath lead to some of Maryland’s most scenic destinations.
